Ya I just bought one my self it has a great feel, and yes you can shoot it one handed its not too hard to control for some reason I actually shoot better with it one handed.

Have you tried shooting your 1911 with one hand?
Or is it too hard to control?

Ive been looking into getting my first 1911, and so far Ive had some great times with the Springfield TRP. I like the way it feels in my hand, the look and it just seems like a pretty reliable weapon. Hell I even hit a center at 50 yards. But what I want to know is would it be worth the price?

This is as close as it gets to expert-class pistol handling for a civilian made 1911 video on YouTube. Excellent control and great camera angle to boot. 5 stars.

Not much I can say to that except for ‘damn straight’, so…. damn straight!

Yes the 1911 is perhaps the sexiest pistol ever. They just look awesome and I have fired my brothers Springfield and it is fucking awesome, .45ACP single stack all the way.

just like he said ^^. lol jk. we were just wearing them b/c the springfield had some crazy checkering on the beavertail that was making it really uncomfortable in the web of our hands. i actually prefer shooting without any gloves if possible though.
ttsunami333 on Sun, 8th Mar 2009 6:21 am
well i’m no expert by any means, but based on what i see and hear from more experienced shooters, the basics are to choke up on the grip (get the hands as nice and high with as much surface area covered on the grip to absorb recoil), and no death grip. just firm. Also try HARD not to flinch when you pull the trigger. this is the biggest problem with first time shooters. and of course, the biggest tip is,.45 1911’s are awesome!
OmnipotentSquid on Wed, 11th Mar 2009 3:38 am
Any tips you have for a person new to .45 1911?

Nice double taps. I can tell you’re not a teenage douchebag trying to rapid fire like a gangsta, you really know what you’re doing. Keep up the good work!

What are the purpose of shooting gloves?
reyjking1 on Fri, 20th Mar 2009 3:57 am
thanks for the info…..

I get the same problem with pinching sometimes on 1911’s. Also, sometimes the checkering on the beavertail rubs against the web of my hand and causes discomfort. That day, we were just testing out what the difference would be like. They are just Half finger Harbinger work-out gloves, but im sure there are gloves specifically made for shooting out there. (Tactical gloves are rather thick). If you could find some nice and thin Nomex gloves that would probably feel the most natural.
reyjking1 on Sun, 22nd Mar 2009 7:14 am
hey i noticed you have shooting gloves, i have a springer 1911a1 mil-spec and sometimes the web on the top of my had gets pinched, by the slide and hammer, so i think for the time being i need some shooting gloves before i get a beavertail grip saftey installed, i just want to know what type of gloves do you use???
thanks

Nice composition and lighting. If Ingmar Bergman filmed a pistol shoot…
