There&#039;s also a certain element of style if you get the right kind of grips, and some people choose their style based purely on looks. 

Also, smooth isn&#039;t any better than checkered for IWB carry. The &quot;checkering&quot; (stippling, actually) does help with some people, especially those that has sweatier palms. 

I still have the stock grips on my RIA 1911, if it helps any. I&#039;d like to get something a little bit bigger, maybe something that makes it feel like a double stack, which fits my large hands better.</description>
